The International Test Pilots School Annual Flight Test Seminar

December  12th and 13th, 2019

The International Test Pilots School will be hosting its annual Flight-Testing Seminar at our new facility in London, Ontario. This year’s event includes the official opening and tour of the new ITPS facility comprising offices, classrooms, aircraft hangar, simulator centre and telemetry facility.

I would like to extend a warm invitation to you and/or representatives from your organization to attend. The seminar is the biggest Flight Test professional event in Canada and creates an opportunity for sharing experiences of current and past flight-testing projects and includes the Graduation of the 2019 fixed and rotary wing course students. The two days include talks by experts on a range of flight test related subjects and networking opportunities with a wide international industry and air forces representation. Presentations will take place on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th of December. A detailed schedule for the two days’ presentations will be posted here in the coming weeks.

Cocktails at 6:30 to 7:30 pm and dinner served at 7:30 pm.

Dress for the graduation dinner is formal, black tie or business suit.

Keynote speaker:

Giuseppe Afruni – Chief Test Pilot and Head of Flight Test of Leonardo Helicopters.


GIUSEPPE AFRUNI is Chief Test Pilot and Head of Flight Test Department at Leonardo Helicopters. Giuseppe is a graduate of the US Navy Test Pilot School and has been an Experimental Test Pilot for Leonardo Helicopters since 2003. After graduating from Italian Navy Academy, Giuseppe served as Sea King Pilot for the 3° Helicopter Flight Squadron and onboard the Italian warships Aircraft Carrier “Garibaldi” and Auxiliary Ship “San Marco” during “Desert Storm” After graduating from course 108 at USNTPS, Giuseppe served as Experimental Test Pilot for the Italian Air Force Flight Test Department, Pratica di Mare (RM) and as Coordinator of the Rotary Wing section of the 311° Flight Squadron September. During his Navy career he also served as Commanding Officer of Italian warship (Frigate) “NAVE ARTIGLIERE” and as Commanding Officer of the Italian warship (Auxiliary Ship) “NAVE BRADANO” Giuseppe has flown more than 9000 Flight Hours Rotary and Fixed Wing Test Pilot and was Project Test Pilot for the NH90, AW119, AW109SP, AW169 and is currently Test Pilot for the AW609 tiltrotor.
